De vraag
Satelliet is één van de grootste specialisten op het gebied van hospitality- en projectmeubilair voor horeca, leisure, retail, onderwijs, office, zorg en cruiseschepen. De collectie omvat meer dan 4.000, in eigen beheer ontwikkelde stoelen, tafels en onderstellen, barkrukken en banken. Het meubilair is naar eigen wens samen te stellen; men kan hierbij kiezen uit een uitgebreid aanbod van modellen en omvangrijke collecties stoffen, leders en afwerkingsmogelijkheden.
Interieurontwerpers zijn voor Satelliet een belangrijke doelgroep. Voorheen presenteerde Satelliet zich bij dit segment d.m.v. een grote box met staalkaarten. Een flinke uitbreiding van de eigen stoffencollectie en afwerkingsmogelijkheden vroeg om een ander presentatieproduct; de oude vorm voldeed niet meer.
De uitvoering
Satelliet heeft veel interne expertise als het gaat over design en vormgeving. De basis van het concept voor de nieuwe ‘Fabrics & Finishes Box’ komt dan ook uit de koker van Satelliet zelf. Het bijzondere eindproduct is het resultaat van veel interne inzet en intensieve concepting. Zo heeft men bijvoorbeeld het patroon van een stof uit de collectie vertaald naar het drukwerk waarmee de box is omplakt: African Leaves.
Handzaam en praktisch: dat waren de functionele eisen. Een box die bij ontwerpbureaus en projectontwikkelaars een vaste plek krijgt in de kast. En waarmee Satelliet haar collectie van bijzondere stoffen (letterlijk) tastbaar maakt. De box bevat niet alleen de stofsoorten in verschillende categorieën, maar ook een boekje met alle kleuren en specificaties van de stoffen, en zo ook de afwerkingen van tafelbladen.
In de diverse sessies met Venttri werd het concept van de box technisch getoetst, aangescherpt en aangepast. De productie van de box bestond uit maar liefst 23 stappen. Bekijk hier de video van het proces: The Making Of. En hier de productfoto’s: Fabrics & Finishes Box.

Satelliet is one of the largest specialists in the field of hospitality and project furniture for catering, leisure, retail, education, office, care and cruise ships. The collection includes more than 4,000 chairs, tables and bases, bar stools and benches, developed in-house. The furniture can be put together according to your own wishes; one can choose from an extensive range of models and extensive collections of fabrics, leathers and finishing options.
Interior designers are an important target group for Satellite. Previously, Satellite presented itself to this segment by means of a large box with sample cards. A considerable expansion of the own fabric collection and finishing options required a different presentation product; the old concept was no longer sufficient.

The execution
Satelliet has a lot of internal expertise when it comes to designing. The basis of the concept for the new “Fabrics & Finishes Box” comes from Satelliet itself. The special end product is the result of a lot of internal effort and intensive concepting. For example, the pattern of a fabric from the collection has been translated into the printed material with which the box is covered: African Leaves.
Handy and practical: these were the functional requirements. A box that is given a permanent place in the closet by design agencies and project developers. And with which Satelliet makes its collection of special fabrics (literally) tangible. The box contains not only the fabric types in different categories, but also a booklet with all the colors and specifications of the fabrics, as well as the finishes of table tops.
In the various sessions with Venttri, the concept of the box was technically tested, sharpened and adapted. The production of the box consisted of no less than 23 steps.
